Today there is large number types of contraception. Oral contraceptives are very popular among other methods. This method is very accessible. In addition to avoiding unwanted pregnancy, they can solve various problems female body.

Modern drugs the most gentle than when they were before. If they are chosen by a specialist, then there will be no health problems. Very often, doctors prescribe two drugs to patients - “Midiana” and “Yarina”, which have the same composition, but there are still differences from each other. This will be discussed later.

Characteristics of the drug "Midiana"

The composition of the contraceptive "Midiana" includes two active ingredients a – this drospirenone And ethinylestradiol.

The effectiveness of this drug lies in the fact that it inhibits the process of ovulation and changes in the endometrium. Due to what it includes in its composition drospirenone, then it has antiandrogenic and slight antimineralocorticoid effects. Drospirenone is very close to natural progesterone.

It has been established that in women who took and are taking combined oral contraceptives, the development of endometrial and ovarian cancer is less common.

The product must be taken daily for 21 days, preferably at the same time. If for any reason a dose is missed, then you must immediately take the missed pill and use other methods of contraception, as there is a possible risk of unplanned pregnancy. After 21 days, a seven-day break is taken, during which the menstrual cycle begins.

Taking Midiana should only be started after consultation and prescription by a gynecologist. Like everyone else / medicines, this drug has contraindications and side effects. But all this can be avoided if you trust a competent specialist.

Description of the oral contraceptive "Yarina"

The composition of the drug "Yarina" includes the active substance: ethinylestradiol And drospirenone.

"Yarina" refers to a contraceptive drug. This is a drug with a low dosage of estrogen and progestogen. Its effectiveness lies in the fact that it helps suppress ovulation and increases the viscosity of cervical mucus. "Yarina" helps prevent unwanted pregnancy.

Women who regularly take this drug suffer less pain during menstrual cycle, the duration and intensity of the cycle is reduced. Women are less likely to suffer from iron deficiency anemia. The risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer is reduced.

Due to the fact that Yarina includes drospirenone, then the risk of weight gain is very low. This component also helps get rid of acne problems and improves hair structure.

The drug must be taken every day for 21 days, then take a seven-day break. Before taking Yarina, you need to consult a specialist.

What do “Midiana” and “Yarina” have in common?

These two drugs have much in common with each other, since the composition of these drugs is the same. These tablets contain the same amount active substances: ethinyl estradiol – 30 mcg, drospirenone – 3 mg.

In addition to their similar composition, they have the same pharmacological action, namely:

  • Protects against unwanted pregnancy.
  • Help in treatment gynecological diseases, such as: ovarian cyst, hormonal imbalance, etc.
  • While taking it, you can forget about problems with acne and acne.
  • The menstrual cycle is normalized, there is no pain.
  • The structure of hair and skin improves.

In addition to the benefits of these funds, there may be side effects, which are similar. But side effects may not always appear, everything is individual.

Distinctive features of these two drugs

"Midiana" is an analogue of "Yarina". First of all, they differ significantly in price. "Midiana" almost two times cheaper than Yarina. This difference is quite significant, since not everyone can afford a drug that is twice as expensive.

Despite the fact that these two products contain the same components and in equal quantities, they still have several distinctive features.

Here are a few characteristics that distinguish each drug from each other:

The excipients include: differences in the number of components in a drug, for example:

  • In Midian the corn starch content is 8 mg., and in “Yarin” - 14.4 mg.
  • The content of povidone K25 in the first preparation is – 6 mg., in the second – 4 mg.
  • Titanium dioxide in the first product contains - 403 mg., in the second – 556.6 mcg.

There are several substances in Midian that are not in Yarin, these include:

  • Polyvinyl alcohol.
  • Soy lecithin.

“Yarin” also has components that are missing in its analogue, these are:

  • Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).
  • Iron oxide.

Due to this difference in the composition of the components, although they are excipients, there may be different reactions and effects on the body. Therefore, medications should only be taken as prescribed by a specialist and under his supervision. If some tablets are not suitable, then an analogue is prescribed. After all, “Midiana” is best suited for some, and “Yarina” for others. Everything is individual.

Who needs to take Midiana, and who needs Yarina?

These two remedies must be taken by all girls and women who are not planning a pregnancy in the near future, or who have any health problems.

There are no clear distinctions in the use of these remedies, since everything is individual and you can find out which of them is suitable for a particular woman only after use.

It may be that the patient has individual intolerance any components that are part of “Midiana” or “Yarina”, then they usually select another analogue product that does not cause side effects.

Having become familiar with the cost of Yarin tablets and analogues, we can conclude that the price difference between the drugs is not significant at all. Therefore, do not try to change one drug for another on your own. Oral contraceptives provide good protection against unwanted pregnancy, but such drugs often cause adverse reactions body, so they can only be prescribed by a gynecologist.

Actually, I don’t use hormonal contraceptives, although these drugs have already been time-tested and many different reviews have been written about them. But my friends have already tried a lot of things, so of course I can tell you something. They mainly take Yarina, Regulon, Jess.

This remedy is considered somewhat similar to yarina, but cheaper. In any case, it costs significantly less in pharmacies.

So, my friend initially took Novinet, but while taking it, complications appeared in the form of intermenstrual bleeding. I had to refuse. Then Regulon and Tri-Mercy were tried, but they also gave undesirable consequences - albeit of a different nature - the body and legs began to swell, even the pants became difficult to fasten, whereas before this contraception they sat almost loosely. In addition, kidney diseases have worsened - cystitis had hardly bothered me before, but now it hit me with renewed vigor. And finally, you can’t hide the weight gain anywhere, it was noticeable even externally from my friend, she became rounder and fuller. Most likely, this was due to the estrogens contained in the tablets, which, due to the specific composition, are to some extent capable of retaining fluid in the body, and thus swelling of the body occurs. In total, the weight gain was about 5.5 kilograms, which is not at all small... And the final nail in the road to taking this drug was allergic reaction in the form of urticaria, which forced me to stop taking these pills.

Yarina or Midiana?

The gynecologist suggested making this choice - both drugs contain ethinylestradiol and drospirenone. The last hormonal component here has an “anti-fluid” effect - it will remove excess water from the body and the body will not swell. Yarina turned out to be a little expensive, so I opted for Midian.

There was a rather long adaptation period to the drug, which made itself felt in full with side effects, which, by the way, they warned about. In particular, the most unpleasant thing was that during the first month I simply got tired of constant bleeding, which, although not particularly strong, still did not stop. From the second month, the bleeding as such stopped and some spotting remained, which persisted until approximately the middle of the menstrual cycle. In the third month there was less smear, a little only in the first week, but only from the fourth month everything finally fell into place, everything began to work clearly. I would like to note, as the gynecologist said, it all depends on individual characteristics body. Some people get used to it almost immediately, for some it will take two months, for others it will take four. Or the drug may not be suitable at all, but this happens relatively rarely.

In addition to the above problems with bleeding, there were headaches, periodic nausea and loss of appetite. Perhaps these were just signs of vegetative-vascular dystonia, but before taking the pills they did not bother me so often, which is why it was concluded that the drug acts on the entire body in a complex and causes a bunch of side effects. These symptoms are likely to worsen during the adaptation period.

But after passing the adaptation period, everything returned to normal, the menstrual cycle returned to normal and began to pass without failures. The periods themselves became less abundant, they became less painful, and premenstrual syndrome itself did not appear as pronounced. sometimes you may not feel it at all. And of course, the drug copes with its contraceptive task very well, there have never been any hints of pregnancy.

It is also permissible to start using it on days 2-5 of the menstrual cycle, but in this case you need to use a barrier method of contraception in the 1st week of use.

When using a vaginal ring or contraceptive patch, use of the medication should begin on the day the patch or ring is removed, but no later than the day a new ring or patch is installed.

Transition from contraceptives ( containing only gestagen ) to Yarina can be carried out on any day (without a temporary break). Transition from implant containing only gestagen , or a gestagen-releasing intrauterine contraceptive - on the day of its removal. Transition from injection form – from the day on which the following procedure must be performed. In all of the above cases, you need to use a barrier method of contraception in the 1st week of use.

After childbirth or in the second trimester, you should start taking the medicine no earlier than 4 weeks after the birth (provided that the mother is not breastfeeding) or the abortion. If use is started later, you need to use a barrier method of contraception in the 1st week of use. But if the patient has already had sexual intercourse, before starting to use Yarina, it is necessary to exclude pregnancy or wait until the 1st menstruation.

After an abortion in the 1st trimester of pregnancy, it is allowed to start taking the medication on the day of the abortion. If this condition is met, the patient does not need additional methods of contraception.

Missed pills

less than 12 hours late , contraceptive protection is not reduced. A woman needs to take the pill as quickly as possible, the next pill is taken at the usual time.

If the medicine was taken with more than 12 hours late , contraceptive protection is reduced. How more missed pills, the greater the likelihood of pregnancy. If you skip 1 tablet, the chance of getting pregnant is minimal. If you are late for more than 12 hours, follow the recommendations below.

The pass was made in the first 7 days of taking the drug

You should take the last missed tablet as soon as possible, even if you need to take 2 tablets together. The next tablet is taken at the usual time. It is recommended to use a barrier method of contraception for another week. If you had sexual intercourse within 7 days before missing a pill, you must consider the possibility of pregnancy.

The pass was made on days 8-14 of taking the drug

You should take the last missed tablet as soon as possible, even if you need to take 2 tablets together. The next tablet is taken at the usual time. If the patient has taken the pills correctly over the past 7 days, then there is no need to use additional contraceptive measures. IN otherwise or if you miss 2 or more tablets, you must additionally use barrier methods of contraception for another week.

The pass was made on days 15-21 of taking the drug

The risk of pregnancy increases due to the upcoming temporary break in taking the drug. The patient must do one of the following two options. Moreover, if over the last week the pill regimen has been followed, then there is no need to use additional methods contraception.

  • You should take the last missed pill as soon as possible, even if this means taking 2 pills at the same time. Subsequent tablets from the current package are consumed as usual until they run out. The next package should be used without interruption. Until the tablets from the second package run out, withdrawal bleeding is unlikely, but breakthrough bleeding and spotting while using the tablets cannot be ruled out.
  • You need to stop taking the tablets from the current blister and start a seven-day break, and then start taking the medicine from the new blister. If the patient has violated the regimen of taking the pills and did not develop withdrawal bleeding during the seven-day break, pregnancy must be excluded.

For vomiting and diarrhea

Whenever vomiting or within four hours after taking the tablets, they may not be completely absorbed. In such a case, measures should be taken additional measures contraception, and also need to focus on the above recommendations when skipping pills.

Arterial thromboembolism can lead to death.

Risk of occurrence thrombosis And thromboembolism increases:

  • in smokers;
  • with age;
  • for obesity;
  • if available thromboembolism ever to immediate family or parents;
  • with prolonged immobilization, surgical intervention, operations on lower limbs(in these situations, it is advisable to stop the use of combined contraceptives and not resume it for 15 days after completion of immobilization);

For children

Alcohol compatibility

Alcohol is not a contraindication for taking Yarina and does not reduce its contraceptive properties.

During pregnancy and lactation

The medicine is not prescribed for detected pregnancy and lactation.

If pregnancy is detected while using Yarina, the medicine must be discontinued immediately. Studies have not found an increased risk of developmental defects in newborns whose mothers took sex hormones before or during pregnancy. early stages. At the same time, the use of combined contraceptives can reduce the volume breast milk and change its composition, therefore the use of such medications is not recommended until breastfeeding is completed.

Yarina's birth control pills have a special composition, which arouses increased interest in them among gynecologists and their patients. This is a modern, high-quality hormonal contraceptive that does not have many of the side effects of other combined oral contraceptives (COCs). It is produced in Germany by the large company Bayer Pharma.

Effect of the drug

Yarin contains two components for hormonal contraception– ethinyl estradiol (estrogenic) and drospirenone (gestagenic) in low dosages (30 mcg and 3 mg, respectively). The medicine is a monophasic contraceptive, that is, in all tablets of the package the ratio of these active ingredients does not change.

While taking it, the likelihood of pregnancy is the same as when using other low-dose COCs. The number of unplanned pregnancies during a year among 100 women does not exceed 1. If the patient follows all the rules for using the drug, the probability of conception approaches 1:500.

Yarina hormonal tablets prevent pregnancy by a combination of the following effects:

  • suppression;
  • increased mucus viscosity cervical canal, which makes it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus;
  • inhibition of cyclic processes occurring during the cycle in the endometrium; in this case, conditions are created that are unfavorable for the implantation of the egg, even if fertilization has occurred.

Thus, the drug affects many processes necessary for conception, so it effectively prevents pregnancy.

Additional medicinal effects:

  • restoration of regular menstruation;
  • decrease ;
  • reducing the amount of blood lost during menstrual or intermenstrual bleeding;
  • prevention of iron deficiency anemia in women;
  • reducing the risk of ovarian and uterine cancer.

Features and indications

There is nothing unusual about Yarina’s estrogenic component, ethinyl estradiol. It is necessary to regulate the functioning of the ovaries. Its presence in the drug causes some typical side effects of COCs, for example, a tendency to vein thrombosis.

The peculiarity of the product is its gestagen component. Drospirenone, unlike levonorgestrel and other similar substances, has additional activity:

  • has an effect similar to medicine spironolactone; that is, it is a weak diuretic that preserves potassium in the body, but at the same time prevents the appearance of edema and other signs;
  • does not cause weight gain with long-term use;
  • has an antiandrogenic effect: prevents or treats acne, excess oily skin and hair, hirsutism (appearance of facial hair).

These features determine the group of patients for whom Yarina is most suitable. They have the following symptoms:

  • swelling, irritability, migraine and other signs of premenstrual syndrome;
  • phenomena of hirsutism - acne, excess oiliness of hair and skin, the appearance of unwanted hairs on the face, seborrhea.

Indications for taking Yarina are a necessity. It can be prescribed even to young girls who have started their menstrual cycle, without changing the dose or regimen. After menopause, when there are no cycles, there is no need to use Yarina.

How to drink Yarina?

To simulate the natural menstrual cycle, the drug is taken 21 days in a row, 1 tablet. It is advisable to do this at the same time of day, regardless of meals. After 3 weeks of use, a break of 7 days is required.

On what day do menstruation begin when taking Yarin?

Menstruation begins after 2-3 days. Even if they did not stop by the end of the week's break, they begin the 3-week course again. In this case, it is not necessary to open a new package, since the hormone content in all tablets is the same. However, it is more convenient to start using the drug from the next package, so as not to get confused and prevent missing tablets.

If your period does not end within 2 days after resuming the course of pills, you should consult a doctor.

Effect on the menstrual cycle

In the first months of using the drug, some women experience irregular bleeding. Adaptation occurs within 3 months of use. If after this the regular cycle has not been restored, you need to contact a gynecologist.

It is especially important to consult a doctor in time if, after several normal cycles, irregular discharge appears again. In such a situation, it is necessary to exclude pregnancy and malignant tumors of the genital organs.

Pregnancy after Yarina can occur in the next cycle after the next menstruation.

Start of reception

The doctor who prescribed it should tell you how to take Yarina for the first time. There are also detailed instructions in the instructions for use.

You can end your appointment at any time. If pregnancy is not planned, you should start using others.

Missing an appointment

If the patient forgets to take a pill, resuming use of the medicine depends on how much time has passed since the required but missed dose.

The rules for resuming contraception are determined by the week in which the unplanned break occurred.

1st week

  1. Take the pill as early as possible. If the patient forgot to use the drug on the previous day, then she will need to take 2 tablets at once (“forgotten” and the next one).
  2. Take subsequent tablets as usual.
  3. For a week after this, you must use condoms during sexual intercourse.
  4. It must be taken into account that pregnancy can also occur if sexual intercourse took place during the previous week before missing the pill.

2nd week

  1. The basic rules are the same as for skipping the 1st week.
  2. If the patient took the drug correctly for a week before the unplanned break, additional contraception is not needed.
  3. If during the week before skipping the drug was taken in violation of the regimen, or if more than one tablet was missed, you must resume your usual daily intake and use condoms over the next week.

3rd week

At this time, the likelihood of an unplanned pregnancy increases. However, if there were no violations in the dosage regimen during the week before skipping, additional contraception is not needed. Otherwise, the patient chooses one of two options:

Immediately, without a week's break, the medication from the next package begins. It can be continued required quantity days, up to 21. Menstruation will begin 1-2 days after finishing using the medicine. In addition, spotting or short-term menstrual-like bleeding are possible while using the second package. The contraceptive effect is not reduced.
  • To reschedule your period a few days earlier, you should reduce the interval between packs by the required number of days in advance. After completing the second package, menstruation will begin, that is, menstruation will come as many days earlier as the “free” interval between packages was shorter.
